Kausani is a hill station and village situated in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is famous for its scenic splendour and its stunning panoramic view of Himalayan peaks such as Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli, 300 km high.
Bhuvaneshwar Patal: A limestone cave temple, 14 km from Gangolihat in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state in India, is one of the most fascinating places in the Kumaon region. It is located in Bhubneshwar, a village. Legend and legends have it that Lord Shiva and thirty-three Crore Gods are enshrined in this underground cave. From the point of entry, the cave is 160 m long and 90 feet deep. Different impressive stalactite and stalagmite figures in different hues and shapes have been formed by limestone rock formations.
There is a narrow tunnel-like opening in this cave which leads to a number of caves. It is completely electrically illuminated by the cave. There is a folklore that the brothers of Pandava spent their time here during their banishment. It is designed on account of the flow of water. In such a fascinating way, it cut the rocks that it looks like some artist had created all those statues inside the cave & on its wall. It has a cave opening and it is assumed that the centuries will be similar to this opening.
Ashram Kausani Anashakti: Mahatma Gandhi wrote his memorable commentary on the 'Gita-Anashakti Yoga' during his stay at Kausani, inspired by the scenic grandeur of this richly gifted spot. Mahatma Gandhi was so fascinated that he began naming it India's Switzerland.
The guesthouse where Mahatma Gandhi stayed is now referred to as the Ashram of Anashakti. Sumitra Nandan Pant, a popular Hindi poet, was born in Kausani. Some of her early poems composed here identified the manifestations of nature. Places to visit in Kausani
Rudradhari Falls & Caves:The Rudradhari Falls & Caves is one of the best tourist places to visit in Kausani, recognised by the picturesque setting with surroundings bursting with hill farms and paddy fields in the form of trace farms. The waterfall trek is a fairly simple one that extends to 1,555 metres above sea level. The caves are situated 10 minutes from the Kausani-Almora Road city bus stop in Kantali Village.
A Shiva & Vishnu Temple lies in addition to the waterfalls. Rudradhari takes its name from Lord Shiva, the Hindu god. With green meadows and pine trees, the surroundings are well furnished. From Kantali Village, a 2-km trek brings you to the waterfalls.
In a place with terraced fields, lush green paddy fields and thick green pine forests, Rudradhari Falls and Caves in Kasauni are situated. You can see these magnificent waterfalls when trekking to the area of Adi Kailash at Kasauni hill station.
A natural attraction here is the Rudhadhari drop, and several ancient caves are explored in nearby areas. The falls that impact the valley flow from them like rivers and tiny springs. The present temple is a beautiful example of the architecture of the early mediaeval North Indian temple known as the temple style of Nagara. In the sanctum of the temple, which has five projections on each side and is surmounted by a tall curvilinear Shikhara, the Svayambhu form of Sivalinga is enshrined.
