Bhuvaneshwar Patal: A limestone cave temple, 14 km from Gangolihat in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state in India, is one of the most fascinating places in the Kumaon region. It is located in Bhubneshwar, a village. Legend and legends have it that Lord Shiva and thirty-three Crore Gods are enshrined in this underground cave. From the point of entry, the cave is 160 m long and 90 feet deep. Different impressive stalactite and stalagmite figures in different hues and shapes have been formed by limestone rock formations.

The guesthouse where Mahatma Gandhi stayed is now referred to as the Ashram of Anashakti. Sumitra Nandan Pant, a popular Hindi poet, was born in Kausani. Some of her early poems composed here identified the manifestations of nature.
