About Temple:Manathunai Nathar Temple is a Hindu temple in the village of Valivalam in the Nagapattinam
district of Tamilnadu, India. The temple is located at a distance of 5 kilometres from Kachanur on
the Tiruvarur-Thiruthuraipoondi route.

History:

• This Shivastalam is located 9 km southeast of Tiruvarur and is a Maadakkovil built at an elevation. Saattiyakkudi, a shrine to the Northeast of this temple has been sung in Thiruvisaippa. 
• The temple is praised in Thevaram hymns of saints Gnanasambandar, Appar and Sundarar. 
• This is the 238th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 121st Sthalam on the south side of River Cauvery in Chozha Nadu.
• The temple is believed to have been constructed by the Early Chola king Kochenganan and renovated
  in more recent times. Stone inscriptions of 2nd Kulothungan, 3rd Rajendran, and Sundra pandiyan
  period is seen in the temple.
  
• This temple with 3 prakarams occupies an area of 1.8 acres, and has an 85 feet tall Rajagopuram. The
  sanctum is a monolithic structure. 
• Traces of a moat and grand walls remain in this temple. Ambal's
  shrine is located in the outermost prakaram. Ekachakra Perumal has a shrine here. The presiding deity
  is Shiva. Lord in the temple is a swayambumurthy.
  

Festivals:

• Chithirai Brahmotsavam in April-May; Thai Poosam in January-February; Maha Shivrathri in February-
  March; Panguni Uthiram in March-April; Vaikasi Visakam in May-June; Aavani Sundays in August-
  September; Purattasi Navarathri in September-October; Aipasi Annabishekam in October-November;
  Tirukarthikai in November-December and Margazhi Tiruvadhirai in December-January are the festivals
  celebrated in the temple. Six worship services are offered each day. The annual Bhrammotsavam
  conducted in the month of Chittirai concludes with the float festival in the Chakra Theertham.

Morning Breakfast at Hotel. Check out from Hotel. Then Proceed towards Manathunai Nathar Temple, Valivalam, Soundaryaraja Perumal Temple. Nellukadai Mariamman Temple. Finally drop at Railway Junction / Airport.
