About Temple: Thiruthalinathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located in
Thiruputhur Town near Karaikkudi. Lord Shiva in the temple is a swayambumurthy. The
temples Rameswaram and Thiruvadanai are the other Shivastalams nearby. Tiruthali Nathar Koil is an
ancient temple near Tirupathur bus stand.

History:

• This is on Karaikudi - Madurai route in Sivaganga district. It is 12 Kms from Pillaiyar Patti. 
• This is the 250th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 6th Sthalam in Pandya nadu. Thiruganasambhandar and Appar have sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.
• This temple has got the royal patronage from the early Chola, Pandiya and Chera kings, and by the later
  period Pallavas, Sethupathy Raja, Maruthu Pandiyar etc.
  

Festivals:

• The Jayantan Festival is celebrated on the 1st Friday in the Tamil month of Chittirai. In addition to this
  Vinayaka Chathurthi, Navarathri, Karthikai Deepam, Arudra Dharisanam, Vaikasi Visakam, Chithirai
  Bhairavar Vizha in April-May and Karthikai Champaka Sashti in November-December are celebrated
  here.
  

Itinerary

Day 1 - Sivaganga Sightseeing

Pick up from Theni/Dindigul. Proceeding towards Sivaganga. Hotel Check in. Then proceed to visit Thiruthalinathar Temple, Thiruputhur. Vettangudi Bird Sanctuary. Shanmughanathar Temple. Come back to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2 - Sivaganga Sightseeing

After Refreshment and Breakfast at Hotel. Check out from Hotel. Then proceed to visit Idaikattur Church Kanadukathan Maharaja's Palace Sivagangai Palace Then Starting Our Journey Towards Theni/Dindigul.
