About Temple: Mahamaya Temple is dedicated to the dual goddess Lakshmi & Saraswati, located in Ratanpur district of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, India and is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas, shrines of Shakti, the divine feminine, spread throughout India. Ratanpur is a small town, full of temples and ponds, located about 25 km from Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.Goddess Mahamaya is also known as Kosaleswari, presiding deity of the old area of Daksin Kosal (modern state of Chhattisgarh).

History:

• Established between the 12th and 13th centuries, the temple is dedicated to the Mahamaya goddess. 
• It was established during Ratnapura's Kalachuris rule. It is said to be at the spot where the goddess Kali had a darshan from King Ratnadeva.
• For three goddesses viz Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati the temple was originally built.
  
• Later the old temple was left by Maha Kali. King Bahar Sai, who was to goddess Maha Lakshmi and goddess Maha Saraswati, built a new (current) temple even later. 
• This temple was built in 1552 (1492 AD) at vikram samvat. Next to the temple are wetlands. The campus also includes temples of Shiva and Hanuman. Traditionally Mahamaya is Ratanpur state's Kuldevi.
  
• The temple was restored by the department of Architecture. The Mahamaya temple is located at Ratanpur, 25 km from the Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh district headquarters.
  

Itinerary

Day 1 - Ratanpur Sightseeing

Pick up from Railway Junction / Airport. Then transfer to Hotel. Hotel Check In. Then proceed to visit Mahamaya Temple. Bhudha Mahadev Mandir. Come back to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2 - Ratanpur Sightseeing

Morning Breakfast at Hotel. Check out from Hotel. Then Proceed towards Khutaghat Dam. Bilaspur. Finally drop at Railway Junction / Airport.
