The temples of Navagraha, the nine (nava) main celestial bodies (Grahas) of Hindu astronomy, are temples dedicated to Navagraha. In South India, several temples include a shrine dedicated to the Navagrahas.

Suryanar Kovil is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu Sun-God deity, situated in Suryanar Kovil, a village near the Kumbakonam Thanjavur District of South India in Tamil Nadu , India. The presiding deity is Suriyanar, the Sun and Ushadevi and Pratyusha Devi, his consorts. During the reign of Kulottunga Choladeva (1060-1118 CE) in the 11th century, with later additions from the Vijayanagar era, the present masonry structure was constructed. In the songs of Muthuswami Dikshitar, who composed a song beginning with 'Suryamurthe' in Saurashatra ragam, the temple is stated.
Koil of Vaitheeswaran, Tamil Nadu : A Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva, situated in Tamil Nadu , India, is Vaitheeswaran Koil or Pullirukkuvelur. As Vaitheeswaran or the "Angel of healing," Shiva is worshipped and it is believed that prayers to Vaitheeswaran can cure diseases. It is one of nine temples associated with the planet Mars (Angaraka) in Navagraha. It lies 7 kilometres from Sirkazhi, 235 kilometres from Chennai, 27 kilometres from Chidambaram, 110 kilometres from Thanjavur and 16 kilometres from Mayiladuthurai. Thirupullirukku Velur is also called Vaitheeswaran Koil.
Temple of Naganathaswamy, Keezhaperumpallamam: One of the nine Navagraha temples located in the Cauvery Delta area, Keezhaperumpallam, is the Naganathaswamy Temple. In the temple, the primary idol is that of "Naganatha Swamy" with his consort Soundaryanaki and Ketu (also known as shadow planet-Mercury) is the presiding deity. Ketu is enshrined here with a snake's head and an asura 's body. This place is also called Vanagiri and is one of South India's most prominent Kethu temples.
One of the 9 Navagraha temples located near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu and is dedicated to Rahu is the Sri Naganathaswamy Temple or Rahu Sthalam. It is one of the 127 temples and one of the Panchakrosa Sthalas on the southern banks of the River Cauvery.
Lord Naganathaswamy is the Presiding Deity. For the Goddess, there are two shrines; the Shrine of Piraiyanivanudalumai is adjacent to the shrine of Naganathaswamy and GiriGujambika with Lakshmi and Saraswathy by her side. An imaginative pillar with the "older and nine horses" pattern is located in the front hall on the eastern side, although identical pillars are also located on the southern side. On the northern side, there is a hall with pillars decorated with yalis, used during the festive occasions for staging idols.
One of the seven temples, 'Saptha Vidanga Sthalams,' is also the Tirunallar Saniswaran Temple. In these seven, every Murti or idol has the Lord representing a specific dance form. 'Naka Vidangar' is the processional lord or Somaskandhar, and 'Unmatha Nadanam' is the special dance he performs here. Therefore, the place is also called 'Nakavidangapuram' The Sthala Viruksham, or Kusa grass (Darbha) is the holy herb. The 'Nala Theertam' and thirteen other Theerthams. 'are the holy water source of the temple. The architecture of Tirunallar Saniswaran Temple is from the 12th century. The Shivalingam is said to have arisen when the land was ploughed by the local Mudaliars.
The figurines of King Nalan with his wife and children are in a small structure at the centre of the pond. The Navagrahas are built as nine distinct wells here. In the middle, where four large streets converge, is the temple of Thirunallar. There are five levels to the temple tower. The mandapam is vast and very large. King Nalan 's past is painted in colour. On entering the temple, the Vasantha Mandapam is attained. All along the way, there are lamps that are illuminated during the festivities. At the entry, the shrine of Shaneeshwara is to the north of the tower. The Capricorn and Aquarius emblems are inscribed here. A crow's mount is a golden hue.The Linga that King Nalan respected, Nalesar Lingam, is also to be seen. The Golden Ganapathy of this temple is unique.
Temple of Agneeswarar, Kanjanur: One of the nine Navagraha temples in Tamil Nadu, Agneeswararar Temple at Kanjanoor or Agniswara Swami Temple at Kanjanur, is associated with Lord Sukran (Planet Venus), the sixth planet of Navagraha. Agniswarar temple, also known as Sukran Navagraha Sthalam, is about 18 km from Kumbakonam and 2 km east of Sooriyanayanar Kovil, on the Kallanai-Poompuhar road in Tamilnadu.
Agneeswarar and Karpagavalli Amman are worshipped as Lord Shiva and Parvati in Kanjanur. Lord Shiva Himself is worshipped as Sukran and hence the Navagraha, Sukra, lacks a separate shrine. The principal deity, Agneeswarar, represents Lord Sukra in the form of lingam, unlike other Navagraha temples. During this temple inside the Nataraja Sabai noted by the Mukthi Mandapam, stone pictures of Natarajar and Sivakami are seen.
Mukthi Thandavam is noted as the Shiva Thandavam here. Legend has it that Shiva blessed Paraasara muni with Mukti thandavam here with a vision of the cosmic dance. Appar is rumoured to have visited Kanjanur on his own thanks to Edirkolpaadi Tirukkodikka. In the Nataraja Sabha, referred to as the Mukti Mandapam, stone representations of Natarajan and Sivakami are seen in this temple. Natarajar 's stone idol at the temple of Agneeswarar is a rare piece of architecture. For Sukran (Venus), there is a separate shrine. There are Maanakkanjaarar Nayanmaar and Kalikkaamar shrines here as well.
Temple of Apatsahayesvarar, Alangudi: Apatsahayesvarar Temple, Alangudi, situated in the village of Alangudi in the Valangaiman taluk of Tiruvarur district , Tamil Nadu, India, is one of the Navagraha (nine planets) temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also one of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where the glories of this temple are sung by Campantar, one of the four most revered Nayanars (Saivite Saints).
Abathsahayeswarar is the presiding deity here and his consort is Elavarkuzhali Ammai or Umayammai. The other gods are Lord Ganesha / Vinayagar, known here as "Sri Kalangamar Katha Vinayagar," with his consorts, Lord Murugan (Subramanyam), and Goddess Lakshmi.
Three sacred rivers encircle Alangudi. They are Cauvery, Vennaru and Kolidam. Temple I is surrounded by 15 theerthams, which are very common among the Amrita Pushkarani that surround the temple.
Legend has it that Alangudi is the place where the deadly poison released during the churning of the 'paarkadal' (sea of milk) was eaten by Lord Shiva. Therefore, the location is known as Alangudi, which literally means the location where the poisonous poison was eaten by Lord Shiva. When churning the paarkadal for nectar, the Devas were hindered by the snake Vasuki's poisonous fumes and prayed for deliverance to Lord Shiva.
SWETHARANYESWARAR TEMPLE, THIRUVENKADU : The fourth Navagraha sthalam of the 9 Navagraha temples in Thiruvenkadu, Tamil Nadu, is Swetharanyeswarar Temple. It is the home of (planet Mercury) Bhudhan or Bhudha. Thiruvenkadu Bhudha Sthalam is situated about 10 km from Sirkazhi, near Poompuhar. Shiva-Swetharanyeswarar ("lord of the white forest") is the primary deity and Brahma Vidya Ambal is the goddess. This is also named the Adhi Chidambaram and there is also the Chidambara Rahasyam. Budhan is said to bestow wisdom and intelligence on the Nine Planets (Navagraha).
Bhuda Dhosham is thought to be rectified by offering puja to Bhuda Bhagavan on Wednesdays. Intellect and wisdom are synonymous with Budhan; thus, those who do not do well in studies should worship Budhan here. With good schooling, wisdom, eloquence, music, astrology, mathematics, sculpture, medicine, language scholarship, Budhan blesses one. Give to Budhan the Green Cloth & Full Green Moong Daal (pachchai paruppu).The Temple of Thiruvenkadu is enclosed by pancha prakarams. The image of Nataraja holds seven instruments and weapons, namely Vetalam, Khadgam, Udukku, Mani, Kedayam, Kapalam, and Trisulam.
Chandra Navagrahastalam-Thingalur-Thingalur : The lunar god is Chandra. It is accurate to say that the Moon is the lord of vegetation and plants. With young , energetic, pretty, 2 armed and having lotus in hands, Chandra is credit. He drives his chariot through the sky every night, with the help of ten white horses. He is also referred to as Rajanipati, meaning Kshupakara, the lord of the night, meaning one who enlightens the night. The head area was joined by the snake's body and became Raghu Bhagavan. Kethu bhagavan becomes the body part unified with the head of the snake. Ragu and Kethu Bhagavan, Suryan and Chandran, do not forgive. Ragu began eating Chandran.
