The statues of Shiva, Vishnu, Vinyaka and the main one, Shri Velappar (Murugan), are in the main temple, as this is believed to be the sanctuary of Lord Murugan. The prasadam that is given to the Lord is Pongal.

The Meghamalai Hills are confined to private tea and coffee plantation estates. But now, the vast region of quiet desert is steadily opening up to visitors, one magnificent spot at a time. With green trees and rich tea plantations, the scenery here is drawn, waiting to be explored.
Megamalai Wildlife : Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary is a 600 km of forest division. The prevention of poaching and the use of pesticides, the removal of ganja, and the production and scientific protection of watersheds should be priority activities in the sanctuary. Highwavys is a viewpoint that provides a wonderful view of the entire Varusanadu Hills chain of mountains. The Highwavys Estates claimed by The Woodbriar Party, Ananda Plantations, Ponsiva Plantations and Feildmede Estate have the biggest possessions of ranches in Meghamalai, a fake lake and a lot of room for relaxed strolls. There are few large private tea, spices and coffee plantations all around.

Velli malai : Silver clouds just seemed to settle softly on environmentally friendly hillsides and the spot at which Vaigai river originates is nestled somewhere in this area. This lovely location would offer a chance to see wild animals and tea gardens that are aesthetically and scientifically maintained. This is a tiger sanctuary near Periyar. A perennial stream of water flows through the Mullai River near the temple. At a distance of almost 8 kilometres from the Theni, the VeerapandiGowmariamman Devi Temple is situated. The celebrations and merriments did in the Theni region sanctuaries are the reason for a huge number of pioneers rushing to it consistently. The Theni district is famous for the number of temples it has. It seemed that the Goddess Gowmari listens to each of her devotees' prayers. She fulfils her wishes and makes the devotees recover from any illnesses they might encounter. It is said that devotees, after receiving her grace and compassion, have in effect been restored.
Vaigai Dam : Across the Vaigai River near Andipatti, in the Theni district, Vaigai Dam was constructed. The water spirals down in two layers — the water pools at the rock boulders and recesses at the first level. And in the second process, the layer of rocks drops off. These recesses are named for wild animals such as lions, snakes, elephants, cheetahs, etc. The location also promises total harmony and tranquilly, in addition to boasting of immense scenic elegance and the melodious tinkering of the gushing waters. Kumbakkarai Falls also provides shallow waters where visitors are welcome to swim or take a dive, unlike most other waterfalls. When the water level is up and the surrounding areas are glowing with greenery, the famous tourist spot is the most crowded during the rainy season. There is also a statue of Murugan installed on the spot.
Bodinayakkanur : Bodinayakkanur is called as Cardamom City of India. In Theni, Bodinayakkanur is a town known for its beautiful scenery. The height of 1,158 ft., albeit being such a Tamil town, makes for great weather throughout the year. Though cash crops grow in abundance here, it also boasts spice plantations and is regarded as India's Cardamom capital. In steep-cut rocky mountains, green trees are picturesque beyond comparison.
