"Jurgen Bailom, President and CEO of Jalesh Cruises, said," The Indian Government's decision to allow cruise companies to sail comes to all of us as a fresh breath of air. We've been waiting for passengers to set sail, and we're eagerly waiting for November. Our focus has always been and will be the health and welfare of our passengers and our crew. I would like to inform our valued guests that a safer and cleaner ship than Karnika will not be found. We look forward to welcoming guests with open arms aboard the Karnika and promising them an experience that will wash away the gloom of the last few months. After their oceanic journey, our guests will return home revitalised, refreshed and all fired up.
Karnika is proud of its first-rate hygiene and protection standards, in addition to excellent lodging, dining , entertainment, and leisure offerings.Since 12 March 2020, MV Karnika has been in Mumbai , India and has been in India ever since.Nice to see some businesses in India introducing cruise options. Long ago, I wrote about this venture-Amet Cruises, which attempted to introduce Chennai and Kochi cruise services, but I don't think it took off and the company has shut down shop.

Angria Cruises launched the Mumbai-Goa cruise last year, offering people on the west coast an opportunity to experience ocean cruising at a affordable rate.More news from Costa Cruise about the Mumbai-Male-Srilanka cruise, but not sure if they're still in company. The website indicates 'SOLD OUT' before March and will not allow us to see future availability. There's a new choice now. Although Jalesh Cruise's advertised sum of 17500 may look lower, cruise companies will not sell a single ticket. You will have to book a room, so at least 2 users will be charged (some businesses charge a single user supplement, which is like an additional 70 percent.
Port charge in Chennai is around INR 6700, Tax Extra, so the total sum easily exceeds 40-50k, which in my view is just not worth it for an overnight cruise. And this is for the space inside, without a window or a balcony or enough room. Premium cabins cost a great deal more. It could be worth it if you have loads of disposable cash or a special event to celebrate.
In bigger groups, in multiples of 2 or 4, it is easier to go. One room on Jalesh Cruise can accommodate up to 4 people, so the cost per person would be much lower if you are a group of 4 people.Thankfully, as most airlines do, there is NO 'Convenience Tax' applied on top of all the above fees.
Basic meals are typically included, but at an added expense, certain facilities must be obtained. The demand for a Chennai-Port Blair cruise would have been high — not sure why the Jalesh Cruise company didn't consider it.The value proposition of such a large amount of investment is unclear. I'm not going to spend 40-50k on a two-day Ex-Chennai Cruise. If you are a group of 4 people, there would be around 20k per head, which is possibly more fair.
Looks like during April 2019 and ex-Chennai from May 2019, the ship will first perform its duty in Mumbai.I did an overnight cruise with ex-Hong Kong Star Cruises Pisces in 2016. It cost me about 24k for 2 people. If I had booked earlier, it might have been a little cheaper. So instead of spending 40-50k on an ex-Chennai cruise, if you schedule a visit to those countries, I would suggest attempting a short cruise from Singapore / Hong Kong or other foreign destinations.
The ships are going to be much larger, fares are going to be a little cheaper and for your money you can have a better experience / value. What do you mean by the cruise above? Are you thrilled? Do you think it's unaffordably costly? If it was a little cheaper, would you have booked it? Oh, let me know.
You can search JaleshCruises.com for more information, but don't go through the numbers shown on the home page. Make your choices and go to the payments tab to understand the total sum you are going to pay.
