Eravikulam National Park: Eravikulam National Park is one of the key attractions near Munnar. This park is renowned for its endangered population, the Nilgiri Tahr. Spread over a 97 sq. field Km. There are also many species of rare butterflies, animals and birds in this park. The park is a perfect place for trekking, offering a beautiful view of the tea plantations caressed by blankets of mist. Mattupetty is known for its storage masonry dam and the beautiful lake, which provides pleasurable boat rides, at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level, allowing one to enjoy the surrounding hills and scenery. The popularity of Mattupetty is also related to the dairy farm operated by the Indo-Swiss Livestock Project, where various high-yielding breeds of cows can be found.
Pallivasal: The location of the first hydro-electric project in Kerala is Pallivasal, situated about 3 km from Chithirapuram in Munnar. It's a place of immense scenic beauty and is frequently preferred as a picnic spot by locals.
Chinnakanal & Anayirangal: Chinnakanal and its waterfalls are located near Munnar Town, popularly known as the Power House Waterfalls, which cascade down a steep rock 2000 metres above sea level. With a scenic view of the Western Ghat ranges, the place is enhanced. You enter Anayirangal when you've travelled about seven kilometres from Chinnakanal. Anayirangal is a lush green carpet of tea plants, 22 km from Munnar. A visit to the majestic reservoir is an unforgettable experience.
Top Station: Top Station, approximately 32 km from Munnar, is located at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level. It is the highest point on the road between Munnar and Kodaikanal.
