It is where soulful bhajans and holy shlokas herald the dawn, where you are welcomed to its lovely lakes and rivers and sanctuaries of wild life by the chirping birds and gurgling streams.
With its rich and varied tourist attractions, Kakinada is a notable place because it has a wonderful mix of nature and heritage. It is a place of rich heritage, stunning natural beauty, historical significance, holy centre of pilgrimage, magnificent virgin beaches, hillocks, beautiful landscapes, calming rivers, in picturesque surroundings.Other than that, it has a rich historical history. It dates back to the epic period and was an important part of the Kingdoms of Chalukyan and Mauryan. From heritage to temples, this town has all in it.
Ainavilli : The most appropriate places to build temples, according to Vaastu Shastra, are either on the bank of a river, or on the seashore, or at the confluence of rivers, or at the top of a mountain. It is true because this is where AINAVILLI is located in the middle of the lush green fields, coconut gardens, the natural environment of the River Godavari city, where the SIDDI VINAYAKA TEMPLE, a prominent pilgrimage centre, is located. It is assumed that he easily fulfils his devotees' wishes. Devotees take a vow, if their wishes are fulfilled, to visit the temple again. Devotees take a vow, if their wishes are fulfilled, to visit the temple again. Annavaram
We agreed to go to Annavaram on a fine weekend. It was my first opportunity to visit this shrine. It is situated on the hill top towards the outskirts of the city of Kakinada in one of the most scenic locations. This temple is a place that sees large crowds of pilgrims each year. Aside from the fact that the place is sacred, because of its immense natural beauty and panoramic views surrounding it, visitors are also drawn to this place. You can get a panoramic view of the surrounding green fields and villages from this hill top. "Anna" means whatever you say or wish and "Varam" means boon, so the Deity will give whatever you want as a boon.
Antarvedi : Antarvedi, also known as' Dakshina Kashi (Kashi of the South), is a significant pilgrim centre in the East Godavari district of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India, located on the inner part of the East coast. Lord Brahma had performed Rudrayaga and installed Lord Neela kantheswara there in order to be released from the sins he had committed against Lord Sankara. It was called "ANTARVEDI" as that place was made a stage or "Vedik" to perform the Yagam. It is a small village in Sakhinetipalle Mandal which is located near Narsapur near the Bay of Bengal Coast and the Vashishtha River. Maharishi Vashishtha, one of the Sapthrishis(seven great sages) of Hindu mythology, is said to have carried this river.
What is famous in East Godavari?
Appanapalli : I heard it was only a remote village in the Mamidikuduru Mandal of the East Godavari District, but as I approached it, I was struck by the beauty of the place. It was located on the holy bank of the Vynateya River and flanked on three sides by the Godavari River and on the 4th side of the Bay of Bengal looking like an island, flanked by striking farms, wide paddy fields, cattle grazing and ploughing the lush fields surrounded by coconut gardens, plain Mango and Jack trees giving the impression as if it were a part of the sky that came down to earth!! A position that one will always cherish!!
Coringa : The best package to take for summer vacations is a combination of entertainment and education and it is provided by the popular Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary on the outskirts of Kakinada city. The Forest Department's Community-based Eco-Tourism (CBT) package offers the public the opportunity to go deep into the mangroves on the newly laid interior paths, in addition to enjoying a boat trip to the sea-mouth.
Draksharamam : Draksharamam is one of the most visited centres for pilgrims in South India. It is one of the Pancharamas of Shiva and one of the 18 Peethas of Shakti. It is known as Shiva kshetra as well as Shakti kshetra. The main gods here are Lord Bheemeswara Swami and Manikyamba. This location is named Dakshina Kashi as well. There is a curious legend about the name of this town and Lord Shiva 's presence in this place. The Shiva Linga in the throat of Tarakasura broke into five parts during Tarakasura vadha, and here one of the pieces dropped. It came to be known as Draksharamam after that.
Godavari Cruise : Since the days of yesteryear, Godavari, a mighty river, a haven of beauty and tranquilly, full of mountains , rivers, grasslands and abundant breathtaking landscapes, has always enchanted and awed one and all with its beauty. There's a multitude of captivating and beautiful colours from dawn to dusk, with the sky and the river battling with each other. When one sees the sun rise and one can actually feel the Godavari stretching out his legs, a sense of warmth spreads allover. When the moon rises above the horizon, it seems unreal at night, and the scarlet sun melts little by little into the water, and the placid river is tinged with gold by the setting sun, blending with the vivid sunset sky.
