The most interesting experience was a trip to Chitradurga, one of the best locations to visit in Chitradurga (Karnataka). By producing art on the canvas that is Chitradurga, nature has brilliantly done its magic.

The most fascinating experience of my life was my trip to Chitradurga, one of the best places to visit in Karnataka. Being in the fortress of Chitradurga and the caves of Ankali gave me wonderful memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. Chitradurga Trip

My trip began at 10:15 pm from the KSR Railway Station in Bangalore. I decided to fly at night so that, by early morning, I could enter Chitradurga. I read that, at the break of dawn, the Fort is at its most majestic. I took the Hospet Passenger (Train 56909), which travels simultaneously from Bangalore to Chitradurga every night. It should be noted that if you travel on this train, it will take about 7 hours to reach Chitradurga.

The train trip, however, fit me perfectly as it meant that by the time I reached Chitradurga I could grab a good night's sleep and be well refreshed. While my calculations said I would reach there by around 5:30 am, the Indian Railways' efficiency ensured that when I finally de-boarded, it was around 7 am.

I booked a car in a hurry and went to the Megha Deluxe Lodge, where I was going to spend the night (it was going to be a two-day trip). He took me to my room after a brief chat with the owner, which was furnished with all the necessities and was reasonably clean and tidy. It was more than enough for me at a relatively cheap rate of Rs 450 per day. As it is a very popular tourist destination and one of the best places to visit in Karnataka, there are a lot of hotels and lodges around Chitradurga.

I took a car to reach Chitradurga Fort at about 7:30 am, one of the best places to visit in Karnataka. It took approximately 10 minutes to reach the entrance to the Fort. Unlike those you find in metro cities like Bangalore, the auto rickshaw drivers here are very fair.

I just had to pay Rs 15 as an Indian citizen to get entry to the Fort. However, the entry fee for foreigners is Rs 200. (Fun fact: Entry into all heritage sites in India under the ASI is absolutely free on April 18th, on the occasion of World Heritage Day!)

I took the aid of an official guide from the Department of Tourism (Government of Karnataka) to show me the important spots in Chitradurga Fort, one of Karnataka's best places to visit. There was a price of Rs 400 for his service. It seems like it's a fixed rate, even though I tried to negotiate and haggle about reducing the price. I was happy to send him the money after the trip, as the tour and the knowledge I got from him were well worth the amount.

By the time I was finished exploring the fort, it was around 3:30 pm. There are plenty of toilets and drinking water facilities distributed across the Fort so that it has never been a concern. In the heart of the Fort, there is also a tourist canteen facility where you can buy most snacks, from ice creams to sodas to biscuits. I spent about eight hours inside the Fort Complex. In order to teach me all the relevant things, the guide took about 3 hours. To take photos and spend more time admiring the beauty of that magnificent building, I then took a second trip around the Fort by myself.

Lunch was the next thing on my list. The best places to visit in Karnataka, where you can get a nice meal at affordable rates, are several places in Chitradurga. In and around Chitradurga town, there are several small hotels. They mostly serve South Indian vegetarian food, but you can find places where non-veg is served as well. If you have booked a hotel, you can get high-quality food yourself from there. I had lunch at a small booth near the fort 's entrance. The lady who had cooked the most delicious Pulao and Chilly Bhajji was there. I was so pleased with its taste after getting it, that I even bought a parcel back in my room to have dinner.

Places to visit in Chitradurga

Day 1 was over, and I had a good rest to brace myself for the next day's adventure: a visit to Chandravalli's Ankali Caves, one of the best places to visit in Chitradurga (Karnataka). Chandravalli is about 7 km from Chitradurga, the best place to visit in Chitradurga. As it is better to explore the caves then, you should always go there early in the morning. I took a car to get to Chandravalli, and it only cost me 60Rs.

Here, there is no entrance fee. You may freely join and take a sweet time of your own to relax and enjoy the fresh , natural air. I made my way to Ankali Caves, one of the best places to visit in Karnataka, and it was closed, to my dismay. I figured out that when exploring the caves, it was mandatory to have a guide along to ensure that people did not get lost inside. For a while, I waited there, hoping a guide would come along. And soon enough, 10 minutes later, an official guide arrived with the key to the caves. He showed me his ID card and offered me Rs 200 for his services. The visit to the Ankali Caves, the best places to visit in Chitradurg, lasted about half an hour, because the cave is not very deep. But crouching and crawling through the numerous hidden passages in the cave was still an exhilarating experience, practically having to paw my way through the pitch darkness. My saviours were the guide and his lantern, as I'm sure I would have been lost long ago without them. No novice individual can safely navigate these caves, and that is something that should be noted by any tourist coming here.

The caves and the rest of Chandravalli Hill, Chitradurga, the best places to visit in Karnataka, took me about 2 hours to finish. One should be careful of the many monkeys around here that are present. While they are harmless, if you hold them out blatantly in your hands, they could snatch away any belongings or food products. I made my way back to Chitradurga town at around 10 am to go and take a look at the famous Jamia Masjid founded by Tipu Sultan himself.

My tour of Chitradurga, one of Karnataka's best places to visit, had come to an end, and now it was time for me to return to Bangalore. To reach the KSRTC bus stand, I took a car from Jamia Masjid (a metre 20 Rs auto ride, like I said, auto walas are so nice). From the stand, every 10 minutes, there is a bus to Bangalore. As I described before, the fare is around Rs 220. Compared to the 7-hour train journey, the bus ride took me only 3.5 hours to reach Bangalore. About 2 pm, I reached the Majestic Bus Stand. My lovely trip to Chitradurga, one of Karnataka's best places to visit, had come to an end, clocking a total time of 40 hours.
