Rameshwaram is one of India's holiest places and is located on a lovely island. It is separated from Sri Lanka by a small Pamban channel. This is the place where, according to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama created a bridge across the sea to Sri Lanka. Rameshwaram is located in the lower part of India, on a beautiful island. Lord Shiva is adored in this place, too. Agniteertham is renowned for its sacred waters, and on this seashore, pilgrims perform poojas in honor of their ancestors. The floating stone used to build the bridge between India and Sri Lanka is held by the Five-faced Hanuman Temple.

Up until a few years ago, Dhanushkodi was a magnificent temple on the southern tip of India. The cyclone, however, was completely washed away due to a natural calamity. It holds the advantage of being on an island and on all four sides of it is exquisitely covered by water. It's sandwiched between the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. The sea is in the shape of a bow and an arrow when viewed from a bird's eye. The arrowhead is considered by the Hindus to be a sacred place of worship and people come there from far and wide to offer sacred prayers to the deity. In this temple, Lord Rama has his pious footmarks, and the whole Ramayana story revolves around this temple island. It is a wonderful pilgrimage site for Lord Rama's followers. The place is about 18 km from Rameshwaram and you can travel by road easily.
Jatayu Tirtham Tirtham : Jatayu tirtha is the holy temple built-in memory of Jatayu, who was Rama's most loyal eagle and who, in various instances, helped Lord Rama to get herbs from the mountains. It is said that this eagle lost his life to save Lord Rama's life and therefore his sacrifice is always appreciated and even today it is worshipped as a deity. At the site of its burial, the Jatayu temple was created. Vibhuti, which is the holy ash that is obtained after the Yagnas, filled the whole of its pit. It is believed that it was buried in the soil when the temple of Jatayu was established at the place of its burial after death. Villoondi Tirtham a Tirtha : Villoondi Tirtham is a beach that among tourists is also considered a sacred natural water body and a favorite. It also has an inland spring that makes the attraction unique and is often associated with the Ramayana legend. It is believed that to help his people with drinking water, Lord Rama shot an arrow to create this spring.
Agnitheertham Tames : One of the most significant theorems, Agnitheertham receives a large number of tourists every day. Agnitheertham is the only situated outside the temple complex, located on the beach side of the Sri Ramanathaswamy temple. The word Agni means fire in the Sanskrit language, while the term theertham means holy water. In ancient texts and mythological legends, Agnitheertham was mentioned several times as a pilgrimage of significant importance among the Hindus.
Tirtham Lakshmana : In the loving memory of Lord Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama, the Lakshmana Tirtham was built. In order to offer sacred prayers to Lord Lakshmana, this temple was built in Rameshwaram itself, indicating that in the dynasty of Lord Rama, Lord Lakshman was given a valuable place. Several wonderful sculptures of Lord Lakshmana were carved out of marble, and the temple also has statues of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, signifying the spirit of unity between them.
