Virudhunagar is a Tamil Nadu borough that was formed after the forking of the districts of Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai. There he was buried and his younger brother, Vira Pandya (AD 946-966), erected his grave with a sculptural shrine (palladia) liver. Pallippadai Sundara Palldya Isvaramudayar Koil was regarded as the shrine. It is now called the Koil of Kalainathaswamy.
Guhanparai : Guhanparai is situated on the road from Vembakkottai to Kalugumalai. On the same nomenclature, a small hill to the west of the village is named Guhanparai and the village lakes. Ayyanar Falls : Located on the eastern slopes of the Western Ghats, it offers great scenic beauty for nature to enjoy. The Ayyanar Falls form part of the eastern slopes of the southern Western Ghats.
