About Divya Desam:

• The Grace of Lord Vishnu is spread throughout the country, from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari. There are several temples dedicated to God Vishnu, which are also called Sthalams.
• Divya desam Temples are the 108 Vishnu temples that are mentioned in the works of the Tamil Azhvars (saints). ”Divya” means “premium” and “Desam” indicates “place” (temple). Of the 108 temples, 105 are in India, one is in Nepal, and last two are outside the Earthly realms.The last two are Thirupalkaddal and Paramapadam. Tirupalkaddal is the ocean of milk and Paramapadam is the Srivaikuntam where lord Narayana presides. The Divyadesams are revered by the 12 Azhvars in the Divya Prabandha, a collection of 4,000 Tamil verses. While most Divyadesams follow Thenkalai mode of worship, some follow Vadakalai too among others.
• The Divyadesams can be divided into 7 categories:

1. Thondai Naadu temples
2. Chozha Naadu temples
3. Nadu Naadu Temples
4. Pandiya Naadu Temples
5. Malayala Naadu temples
6. Vadu Naadu Temples
7. Vinnulaga Thiruppathigal

• The idols of Lord Vishnu in these Divyadesams can be found in 3 positions:

1. Kidantha Thirukkolam        ( Sleeping Position )    – 27 Divya desams
2. Veetrirundha Thirukkolam  ( Sitting Position )        – 21 Divya desams
3. Nindra Thirukkolam           ( Standing Position )     – 60 Divya desams

• In these 108 Divyadesams, the Lord Vishnu can be seen facing one of the four directions: east, north, south and west. On this basis, the Divyadesams can be classified as:

1. Towards East direction – 79 Divya desams
2. Towards West direction – 19 Divya desams
3. Towards North direction – 3 Divya desams
4. Towards South direction – 7 Divya desams

• Vada Nadu Divya desams - Thirupathigal are said to be found in Northern part of our country (ie little bit above from TamilNadu, all the Divyadesams are termed to be Vada Nattu Thirupathigal).
• There are 11 Divyadesams found in Vada Nadu. Among these 11 Divyadesams, the perumal is giving his seva facing his thirumugham along 8 divyadesam and towards Nord direction, he is found in 2 divyadesam.
• He is also found in 3 different thirukkolams among these 11 Divyadesams.

1. Kidantha Thirukkolam - 1 Divyadesam.
2. Nindra Thirukkolam - 7 Divyadesams.
3. Irundha Thriukkolam - 3 Divyadesams.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Vada Nadu Thiruppathigal

Upon your arrival at airport. Pick up and then transfer to Hotel. Then proceed to visit Sri Badri Narayana Perumal Temple. Vasudhara Falls. Tapt Kund. Come back to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2 - Vada Nadu Thiruppathigal

Morning breakfast at Hotel. Then proceed towards Joshimath. Hotel Check in. Then proceed to visit To visit Sri Paramapurusha Perumal Temple. Located 17 km from Chamoli, Nandprayag is a place of confluence of two holy rivers, Alaknanda and Mandakini. Come back to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 3 - Vada Nadu Thiruppathigal

Morning breakfast at Hotel. Then proceed towards Devaprayag. After Refreshment the proceed to visit Sri Neelamega Perumal Temple, Devaprayag. Finally drop at airport.
