Arrival & Phuentsholing Charm: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (500Ft/150Mts). Our representative will meet you and assist you to board your vehicle for the 5-hour drive to Phuentsholing (165 Kms). After clearing immigration formalities, check into your hotel. If time permits, visit Zangtho Pelri, a small temple representing the heaven of Guru Rinpoche. Later, explore the local market.
After breakfast, proceed to Thimphu. Enjoy the scenic drive ascending from the Indian plain to the Bhutan foothills, passing through beautiful forests, towns, and villages like Gedu, Chukha, and Chuzom. Check into the hotel in Thimphu (2300m), the only multi-culture city in Bhutan. In the evening, explore the city by walk.
Day 3 Thimphu Sightseeing: In the morning, visit the Handmade Paper Mill and the School of Arts and Crafts (closed on Sundays/government holidays) where students learn 13 different Bhutanese arts. Visit the nearby Folk Heritage Museum and National Library before lunch. After lunch, drive past the Memorial Chorten built in memory of the 3rd King. After breakfast, check out and proceed to Paro. Paro is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom, featuring fertile rice fields and a beautiful, crystalline river. After checking into your hotel, proceed for Paro sightseeing: Visit Drukgyel Dzong (ruins of an old fortress), Kyichu Lhakhang (famous Monastery), and Ta-Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan).
In the morning, hike to the famous Tiger's Nest Temple (Paro Taktsang). This most revered temple hangs on a granite cliff 900m above the valley floor. It is associated with Guru Rimpoche, who is believed to have mediated here for three months in the 8th century and converted the valley to Buddhism. The hike is about a 2-hour walk uphill for an average hiker. Evening, return to the hotel and relax.
Day 6 Paro to Phuentsholing (approx. 6 Hrs): After breakfast, retrace your scenic drive back to Phuentsholing (180 Kms). Relax in the hotel and prepare for your departure the next day. Phuentsholing
